The Story of God's Might: How Jesus Christ Resurrected and Changed History
According to Christianity, Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became a human being, died on the cross for the world's sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. This is the heart of Christian faith and the foundation of Christian hope. The resurrection of Jesus is a historical reality confirmed by eyewitness testimony and historical facts, not a fiction or tale.
Jesus' resurrection was neither anticipated or predicted by his followers. They were devastated and perplexed by his death, and they fled in horror of the officials who had murdered him. They had no reason to believe he'd resurrect from the dead because it contradicted their Jewish beliefs and experiences. They also had no need to fabricate or lie about his resurrection as doing so would expose them to penalty and death.
The resurrection of Jesus was also not an illusion or a fraud committed by his followers. They saw a real person, not a ghost or a vision, who ate, drank, spoke, and touched them. They also did not steal or shift his body, as this would be impossible under the Roman troops' protection and seal. They also did not change or contradict their story, even when tortured and killed.
Jesus' resurrection was a supernatural and miraculous act intended by God. It was a realization of both the Old and New Testament estimations that God would raise up his Messiah from the dead. It was also a display of God's strength and control over sin, death, and evil, all of which Jesus conquered on the cross.
Jesus' resurrection was an altering and revolutionary event that impacted the lives of his disciples as well as the direction of history. It transformed his followers from cowards to fearless witnesses who proclaimed his name to the ends of the earth. It also transformed millions of people from many cultures and backgrounds into Jesus believers and followers, forming a new society known as the church. It also influenced many works of art, literature, music, science, philosophy, ethics, and social justice, all of which reflect Jesus' values and vision.
The resurrection of Jesus is a relevant and personal event that urges everyone to respond to him with faith and obedience. It is not solely a historical fact, but a current reality that everyone who calls on him can experience now. It is also a hope for the future, bringing eternal life and resurrection to those who belong to him.
This is the narrative of God's might: how Jesus Christ revived from the grave and changed the course of history. It is also an invitation to encounter him as Lord and Savior, and to join him in his mission of world regeneration.
